In fact, architectural drawings differ from artistic drawings, which focus on aesthetics, emotions, and feelings, because the importance of architectural drawings is their data. There are many types of architectural drawings, each presenting different information. For instance, plans or bird's-eye views provide an overall look at the project: while sections, appearing as if the walls are removed, show circulation paths and elevators, building systems, and spatial volumes of interiors (and secret rooms). Elevations and 3D renderings reveal the building's facade, including solid-void, textures, materials, colors, and light-shade-shadow. Today, they are also used for structural analysis through computer simulations. Lastly, a collage technique represents multiple events appearing simultaneously in a single image, whether contrasting times, diferent viewpoints, or scenarios that cannot occur in real life. All these are considered architectural drawings.
